Background:
Founded in 1993 by four entrepreneurs: Greg Provenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Mike Cupisz and Tony Cupisz, ACN has grown into the world's largest direct selling telecommunications company. ACN now operates in 21 countries spanning North America, Europe, Asia and Asia Pacific. ACN stands for American Communications Network and is Headquarted in Concord, NC.
Products:
ACN products include cutting-edge services such as Digital Phone Service Plus High Speed Internet with Video Phone, as well as essential services such as Local & Long Distance Plus High Speed Internet, Wireless, Satellite TV with DIRECTV and DISH Network, Canada Energy and Home Security with ADT.
Pros:
- Average start-up cost, you can start your business for either $99 or $499
- Many in ACN leverage the internet to push their new products and business
- Great new product line and proven to be one of the more innovative companies
- Great track record of sustained growth over 17 years
- Quick and fairly simple to get up and running within days
- Product can be sold in the United States and Internationally
Cons:
- In order to make 10% you have to build your total billable revenue up to $10,000
- Essentially most new reps earn pennies on the dollar their first 24 months
- Ton of heavy hitters already with ACN that own a considerable share of the market
- Although many within ACN use the leverage of the internet to market, the company still teaches its new distributors to use the Friends & Family marketing approach
- Your success is still dependant upon your recruits duplicating you (this hurts superstar sellers)
- Competing against Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Radio Shack... stiff competition!

Conclusion:
In conclusion, ACN has a great product that has world wide appeal. In an age where everyone wants to stay connected, this industry is booming. The company has great leadership and a proven track record. In most cases, the average distributor is ready to conduct business within 48 hours of joining. That being said, the competition in this industry is fierce! Not only are you competing against more established and powerful ACN Distributors, but you're also competing against some of the top companies in the world that have over 93% of the marketshare. Add to that the fact that it will take most at least 2 years to really see sizable profits and this phenomenal opportunity starts to look rather average. Nevertheless, if you have what it takes to work hard, be patient and keep your eye on the goal at hand, you should do well. If you're not willing to invest a couple of years now for deferred gratification... then this isn't for you!
